So here is the down low on what you need to know about Sciatica
The term sciatica describes symptoms of leg pain and is not in and of itself a medical diagnosis; however, it is a result of an underlying medical condition. Causes of sciatica may include bulging or herniated lumbar discs, degenerative disc disease, spinal stenosis, pyriformis syndrome, and even pregnancy.
Sciatica is usually noted down just one leg. It is possible to present in both legs, but that is truly rare. Below is a list of some different types of symptoms that describe sciatica:
- Sharp leg pain
- Burning muscle pain
- Muscle weakness
- Foot numbness
- Tingling or pins and needles
- Shooting electric like pain
If you have either experienced sciatica or at least understand these symptoms, you can probably imagine how even walking around might be difficult.
